Tree Meditation

In the borderland between intellect and intuition lies an unnamed field of awareness. In the space between what we "know" and what we don't "know," we are somehow addressed—by whom, we cannot say. There is no explicit addresser, yet messages are conveyed. To receive these messages, we must quiet our minds and listen without any bias whatsoever. How does one achieve this? One accessible yet powerful method is tree meditation. I learned this technique from a mystic I know, Mr. Ken G.

Stand firmly rooted on the ground with both feet. Let your arms hang loosely at your sides. Be comfortable yet strong. Close your eyes, relax your jaw—breathe normally. Try not to swallow, and do not move; stand perfectly still. Say nothing, do nothing, and avoid thinking. That will be your position. Before you start, set a timer for 3, 5, 7, 10, or even 12 minutes. Then, simply hold the position and do nothing—just wait. I cannot predict what this practice will do for you, but you will know.
