There is a natural joy to life. Unfortunately, we often pass it by. Sometimes we even forget it entirely and begin to see our lives as an endless row of meaningless obligations. We do things not because we want to, but because we must. We close ourselves—our hearts and our minds.
But there is a joy to life. Think of the child who wakes up in the morning and simply knows it’s going to be a great day—the child who rushes down the stairs and feels compelled to get out into the garden, to feel the sun, to see the light, to be alive.
There is a natural joy to life, and today I remind myself of it. My room is filled with beautiful morning light, the sun is coming up, and it is going to be a great day.
