Someone described homeostasis as "a dynamic process of standing still."
I paused when I heard those words.
Isn't that, in many ways, what life itself is like?
We strive to maintain balance, yet doing so is anything but passive.
We run to stand still.
We rest in order to act.
We seek peace, not by escaping life, but by learning how to meet it.
Perhaps balance is not the absence of movement.
Perhaps it is movement with purpose.
Life is constantly changing, yet somehow it keeps inviting us back to equilibrium—not a lifeless stillness, but a living one.
