In yesterday’s blog, we heard Niels Bohr say that opposites are complementary. Sri Ravi Shankar, founder of the Art of Living movement, often expresses a similar insight — not as abstract philosophy, but as a way of approaching life itself.
Life moves in waves. We all know this from experience. There are highs and lows, moments of clarity and moments of confusion, times of joy and times of struggle.
Ravi Shankar encourages us not to resist this movement completely, but to learn how to move with it. Like a ship upon the ocean, we cannot avoid the sea, but we can learn how to navigate it with balance, openness, and trust.
And perhaps something changes when we stop seeing every obstacle as a punishment and instead begin seeing difficulties too as part of the journey — even as opportunities to grow.
