The January full moon is called the Wolf Moon. This year it occured on the third of January when it spectaculary showed itself outside our window. And it was in Super-Moon mode this year which means it was as close to Earth as it gets in its current orbit. Why is it called the Wolf Moon? The different full-moon's of the year has been named for centuries throughout the world. The Wolf Moon refers to hungry wolfs howling at the moon in the grim winter night. I have not seen a wolf in the natural, still I can relate to their behavior, their longing, their outcry in the wild and rigorous winter-night.

Another memory comes to mind, a documentary where the life and adventures of a prairy mouse were captured by a film-team. This little mouse encountered servere dangers, being haunted by snakes and lizards and what have you in the dark and ghostly desert night. And the final scene topped it all as the mouse at the end of the night turned his little face towards the fullmoony sky, stretched his neck and howled a mousehowl to the moon. I don´t know how the scene was captured, this was long before AI, nevertheless, it is vivid to my memory.

And again, I can relate. I am longing too, I am also trapped by grim circumstances, also calling out to a higher realm, also seeking redemption from beyond my own powers. In that sense, we are the same, wolf, mouse, or man, we all seek redemption at times.
