Love and joy belong together.

Unfulfilled love can certainly bring pain. Yet, even then, love and joy remain inseparably connected. Love carries joy, and joy carries love.

There are many things we human beings can change. We have an extraordinary ability to reshape the world around us. But this is not one of them.

Nor would we wish it to be.

Whatever happens in life, love and joy remain bound together.

I find that both comforting and deeply hopeful.
