I am not a political person; rather, I am philosophically, or even spiritually, inclined. But now I ask myself: can one refrain from being political in times like this? I mean — where are we heading?
What is it that we are doing to ourselves and to one another?
We are facing war; for a great many people, it is already an ongoing fact. And we are all affected. Enemies are being pointed out, and weapons are being built.
Where are we heading, and what kind of world leaders do we have?
I was once told that we get the leaders we deserve. At the time, I did not understand the comment. I thought strong leaders attained their positions because of their qualities. And of course, there is some truth in that — but it is not the whole truth.
We choose our leaders, just as we choose what we think. We share a responsibility to be wise and to make decisions that promote peace and fellowship among us.
And it is urgent that we do so.
I am worried.
