Yesterday I saw a short film about Elon Musk's new AI system. Mr Musk had asked the system about the origins of the universe, and had gotten a very unsettling answer. The system had ran through all collectable data from both science, philosophy and religion, just as you would expect, but then started to add things that was not supposed to be there, as the narrator put it in his dark echo-chamber voice. There was something dark lurking behind the scenes, a sinister manipulator, an intelligience far superior than we could even imagine, who had set up the whole thing for evil purposes.

To me this kind of storytelling is both amuzing and disturbing. Amuzing because it is so predictable. If something is unknown, we directly assume its dangerous—even evil. And it is disturbing for the same reasons, because assumed danger is often used as something to be preyed upon.

And there is a deep understanding to be found here. It might be that the universe exists so that an evil force can manipulate us human's for its own sinister purposes—I don´t beleive it's so—but it is not impossible.

But there is one thing that I do know. And this must not be forgotten. Behind all the interacting forces, big or small, let them be evil, threatening, dangerous, silly, stupid, amuzing, or what have you—this world, reality as such, is one infinite whole. You can add as many universes as you like, as many sinsiter threats as you like, as many potential problems as you can even imagine—behind it all abides one infinite whole. That is not an assumption, that is an irrefutable fact, and in that sense—in the far-off scenario we are safe. Reality as such is not a sinsiter scheme, you can rest assured.
