
Yesterday I heard an economic expert explain that we are actually doing rather well financially.The problem just now was that people worried about the future and because of that they were cautious with their spendings.
The reasoning was that when consumption slows down, the economy slows down too. And when the economy slows down, we all lose our ability to consume as much as we wish.
In short, if we want to keep on consuming, we must consume even more.
Such logic makes sense economically, but does it make us happier?
I’m just asking.
