Right in the middle between scientific proof and religious belief there is an area that we may call common sense. It is called common sense because it is common to us all, in other words, we all have access to it, we do not need to turn to anyone else for confirmation, we must not trust scientific endeavors or religious doctrines, we know it inside ourselves, we know it through our own inborn knowingness.

Such knowledge is often considered a bit low in value, but is it really? As an ontologist—a title I proudly embrace—I find that within the realm of common sense, we can uncover answers to some of our most perplexing enigmas. For instance, where, how, and when did the universe begin? While we may not know all the details, we do know one thing: it did not emerge from nothing. It arose from something, a something that is just as real as everything else we know. Quite exciting, if you ask me.
