The journey is still on

I admit that I find it hard to change. Twelve years back I attended a week-end course at a retreat center, where we talked a lot about the importance of making changes and about being true to one's inner self. And I agreed, it was a story that applied very well to my current situation. I had reached a point in my life where I was dissatified. It was all looking good on the surface, I had exellently passed an education within my trade of work, and I had got a job as a head-chef at a rather big hotel in the city where I live. Me and my wife had found a new apartment that we really liked and it was all good. At the same time I was almost killing myself at work, working far too many hours, taking work with me back home, - waking up in the middle of the night by the beat of my racing heart. And what was actually worse, in the back of my mind I sensed that I was untrue, both to myself and to others. I was playing a game, - a game I didn't control very well to that. The week-end retreat came up rather casually without any big expactations. I needed a break from the daily struggles and a couple of days in the countryside could be a good idea. Little did I know! A couple of days later I had resigned from my long-sought-after employment, and went free-lancing out into I did not know what. I felt strongly I had to do it. I needed to change, I needed to be more true, more authentic, to myself as well as to others. But it was not that easy, I have not regretted the decision, but it showed tougher than I had thought. And it has taken time, I have stumbled and struggled, but I have not given in. I still believe that I have more to give, that there is an authenticity within me that needs to be freed, that needs to be let out, that needs to be turned loose. What is this life all about, surley not to be wasted. Life is an obligation, a mission and a responsebility. I have not given in, I can still change, I have the most important years of my life ahead of me, I beleive that to be true and I intend to do what I can to make the best of it. Thank you kindly.
Wow vilken fin blogg! Jag tror många kan ta till sig budskap som är så personliga och ärliga och känna igen sig själva. Jag skriver det här bara till dig! Puss!
